White Knight

The White Knight is a fictional character who appears in Lewis Carroll’s 1871 book Through the Looking-Glass. He serves as the literary representation of the chess piece of the same name.

In the original illustrations created by John Tenniel for the Alice stories, the character’s visual design was inspired by Albrecht Dürer’s 1513 engraving titled Knight, Death and the Devil.
