White King

The White King is a fictional character featured in Lewis Carroll’s 1871 fantasy novel Through the Looking-Glass. As one of the earliest chess pieces introduced in the story, he holds significant importance to the game itself, even though he interacts with Alice less frequently than the White Queen does.

Because Alice becomes a pawn on his side of the chess game, the White King remains a central figure in the narrative. Readers should note that he is a distinct character and should not be confused with the King of Hearts from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
