Toto

Toto is a fictional dog who first appeared in L. Frank Baum’s children’s book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in 1900. Originally depicted as a small terrier by illustrator W. W. Denslow, the character has since become a staple of the Oz series.

Beyond his initial appearance, Toto features in subsequent books within the series and has been included in numerous adaptations, such as the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz and the 1978 production The Wiz.
