Tom Ayrton

Tom Ayrton is a fictional character created by French author Jules Verne who appears in two of his novels. He is first introduced as a major character in the 1867–1868 work In Search of the Castaways.

Ayrton later reappears in the 1875 novel The Mysterious Island. This story resolves the character’s fate, which had been left unknown at the conclusion of his previous appearance, and depicts his personal transformation and eventual redemption.
