Quilp

Daniel Quilp is a vicious, ill-tempered, and grotesque dwarf who serves as the primary antagonist in Charles Dickens’s 1840 novel, The Old Curiosity Shop. As the villain of the story, he represents the closest Dickens ever came to creating a true monster.

Throughout the years, the character has been portrayed on screen by a variety of actors, including Hay Petrie, Anthony Newley, Patrick Troughton, Trevor Peacock, and Toby Jones.
