Pennywise

Pennywise the Dancing Clown is an ancient, trans-dimensional malevolent entity and the main antagonist of Stephen King’s 1986 horror novel It. The creature preys upon the children of Derry, Maine, roughly every 27 years, utilizing supernatural powers such as shapeshifting and reality manipulation. While it possesses various forms, it primarily appears as a clown.

The entity’s presence is discovered by a group of children known as the Losers Club after it kills Georgie, the little brother of their leader, Bill Denbrough. This group subsequently resolves to hunt and kill the creature. Pennywise has been portrayed by Tim Curry in the 1990 television adaptation and by Bill Skarsgård in the 2017 film, its 2019 sequel, and the HBO prequel series It: Welcome to Derry.
