Marianne Dashwood
Marianne Dashwood is a fictional character from Jane Austen’s 1811 novel Sense and Sensibility. As the 16-year-old second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dashwood, she serves as a primary figure in the story.
In contrast to her elder sister Elinor, who represents the “sense” of the title, Marianne primarily embodies the quality of “sensibility.”
