Heathcliff is a fictional character from Emily Bronte’s 1847 novel Wuthering Heights. Due to the enduring fame and popularity of the book, he is frequently cited as an archetype of the Byronic hero or the tortured antihero.

His character is defined by an all-consuming rage, jealousy, and anger. These destructive traits ultimately lead to the ruin of both himself and those around him.
