Griffin

Griffin, also known as the Invisible Man, is a scientist and the central figure in H. G. Wells’ 1897 science fiction novel. Through his research in optics and experiments focused on changing the human body’s refractive index to match that of air, he successfully renders himself invisible. To interact with others, he must wrap his head in bandages and wear goggles or glasses to provide a visible form.

Unable to reverse the effects of his experiment, Griffin eventually descends into insanity. This transformation leads him to abandon his scientific pursuits and become a criminal, serving as both the protagonist and antagonist of the story.
