Good Witch of the North

The Good Witch of the North, who is sometimes referred to as Locusta or Tattypoo, is an elderly and mild-mannered character created by L. Frank Baum. As the ruler of the Gillikin Country, she makes her only significant appearance in the second chapter of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. During this encounter, she introduces Dorothy Gale to the Land of Oz, places a protective kiss on her forehead, and directs her to meet the Wizard.

Beyond this initial meeting, the character makes a brief cameo appearance at Princess Ozma’s birthday party in The Road to Oz. She is not featured in any other major roles throughout the series and is only mentioned in passing elsewhere.
