Gavroche

Gavroche is a fictional character from Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel Les Misérables. A boy living on the streets of Paris, his name has become a synonym for a street child or urchin. He appears in the third, fourth, and fifth parts of the novel.

Though his role is short, it remains significant across the many adaptations of the story. Gavroche shares the populist ideology of the Friends of the ABC and joins the revolutionaries during the June 1832 rebellion.
