Aouda
Aouda is an Indian princess and the daughter of a Bombay Parsi merchant who appears in the novel Around the World in Eighty Days. After being forced into a marriage with the elderly raja of Bundelkhand, she faces the threat of being sacrificed as a sati on her husband’s funeral pyre following his death.
Her life is saved when Phileas Fogg and his companion Passepartout learn that the ritual is being conducted against her will. The group intervenes to rescue her, after which she accompanies them on their travels.
