Depiction of Alice

Alice

Alice is the titular protagonist of Lewis Carroll’s children’s novels Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, published in 1865, and its 1871 sequel, Through the Looking-Glass. A child living in the mid-Victorian era, she finds herself on an unexpected underground adventure after falling down a rabbit hole into the world of Wonderland.

In the sequel, Alice continues her journey by stepping through a mirror to enter an alternative world. These two stories follow her experiences as she navigates these strange and fantastical environments.
