William Makepeace Thackeray

William Makepeace Thackeray was an English novelist and illustrator known for his satirical works. He is best recognized for his 1847–1848 novel Vanity Fair, which serves as a panoramic portrait of British society.

His literary contributions also include the 1844 novel The Luck of Barry Lyndon. This work was later adapted into a 1975 film directed by Stanley Kubrick.
