Walter Scott

Sir Walter Scott, 1st Baronet, was a Scottish novelist, poet, and historian whose works remain classics of European and Scottish literature. He is best known for his Waverley novels, published between 1814 and 1831, which stood for nearly a century as some of the most popular and widely read fiction in Europe.

In addition to his novels, Scott gained recognition for his narrative poems, including Marmion, published in 1808, and The Lady of the Lake, published in 1810. Through these influential writings, he made a significant impact on both European and American literature.
