Sir Walter Scott

Sir Walter Scott, 1st Baronet, was a Scottish novelist, poet, and historian whose works remain classics of European and Scottish literature. He is best known for his Waverley novels, published between 1814 and 1831, which stood as some of the most popular and widely read books in Europe for nearly a century.

In addition to his fiction, Scott gained recognition for his narrative poems, including Marmion, published in 1808, and The Lady of the Lake, published in 1810. His writing had a significant influence on both European and American literature.
