Lewis Carroll

Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by his pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, poet, mathematician, photographer, and reluctant Anglican deacon. He is best remembered for his significant contributions to Victorian literature, most notably Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass.

Carroll was celebrated for his mastery of word play, logic, and fantasy. His literary nonsense poems, including Jabberwocky and The Hunting of the Snark, remain enduring works, while the nonsensical logic found within his Alice stories reflects his professional background in mathematical logic.
