L. Frank Baum

Lyman Frank Baum was an American author best known for his children’s fantasy series, which includes the iconic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Throughout his prolific career, he wrote 14 books in the Oz series, 41 other novels, 83 short stories, over 200 poems, and at least 42 scripts.

Baum made numerous attempts to bring his literary works to the stage and screen. His efforts contributed to the creation of the 1939 adaptation of his first Oz book, which became a landmark of 20th-century cinema.
