Kenneth Grahame

Kenneth Grahame was a Scottish writer best remembered for the classic children’s book The Wind in the Willows, published in 1908. Born in Scotland, he spent much of his childhood living with his grandmother in England following the death of his mother and his father’s inability to care for the family. He attended St Edward’s School in Oxford, but after his ambition to attend university was thwarted, he began a successful career at the Bank of England.

Prior to his most famous work, Grahame established himself as an author with the publication of three other books: Pagan Papers in 1893, The Golden Age in 1895, and Dream Days in 1898.
