Kazuo Ishiguro

Sir Kazuo Ishiguro is a Japanese-British novelist, screenwriter, musician, and short-story writer. Widely considered one of the most critically acclaimed contemporary authors writing in English, he has received several major literary prizes, most notably the 2017 Nobel Prize in Literature.

In its citation for the Nobel Prize, the Swedish Academy praised Ishiguro as a writer who, in novels of great emotional force, has uncovered the abyss beneath our illusory sense of connection with the world.
