George MacDonald

George MacDonald was a Scottish author, poet, and Congregational minister. Recognized as a pioneering figure in the field of modern fantasy literature, he also served as a mentor to fellow writer Lewis Carroll.

In addition to his contributions to fantasy through his fairy tales, MacDonald was a prolific writer of Christian theology. His body of work includes several collections of sermons.
