Captain Charles Johnson
Captain Charles Johnson is the British author of the 1724 book A General History of the Robberies and Murders of the most notorious Pyrates. His true identity remains a mystery, as no historical record exists of a captain by that name.
The name is generally considered a pseudonym used by one of London’s writer-publishers. While some scholars have suggested that the author was actually Daniel Defoe, this attribution remains a subject of dispute.
