Beryl Markham
Beryl Markham was an aviator, adventurer, racehorse trainer, and author who lived for many years in Kenya, where she eventually died. Born in England, she gained historical significance as the first person to fly solo and non-stop across the Atlantic from Britain to North America, though she was not the first person to cross the Atlantic in that direction.
Markham documented her experiences and adventures in her memoir, West with the Night.
